I was born in the Johnson/Brock, Nebraska area. I come from a family of five boys and two girls. I grew up with my father teaching and coaching mostly in the Nebraska area, which brought my family to Grand Island where my father retired after 30 years of teaching. I graduated from Grand Island Senior High in 1986, and went immediately to a tech school in Kansas City, MO.
I have two older brothers who were police officers in the Army and Air Force and eventually police officers in the civilian world. Their service inspired me. My father, with the support of my mother, encouraged their children to be servants of others. Those are the biggest reasons I decided to become a police officer. I became a Trooper in 1989 and was stationed in Lincoln eventually transferring to Grand Island so Cassondra could be closer to her elderly mother. I am currently a Narcotics Investigator, and have been for 11 of the 20 years I have been employed by the Nebraska State Patrol. I was on one of the Nebraska State Patrol’s SWAT teams for 10 years and was an accident re-constructionist for fatality accidents for 3 years.
I learned to re-roof houses by working in the summers with my father and continued re-roofing houses to make extra money for my family. Eventually, I started a roofing business growing it into what it is today, Lyon Pride Roofing, Inc.
I have been married to Cassondra for 22 years; we have 4 children who all attend Centura School. We are excited and proud to call the Centura Community our home.

I have been on the board since January of 2000. I was born and raised in Cairo and graduated from Centura Public School in 1983. I then went to two years of college, one year at UNL and another at UNK. I am married to a lovely woman named Amy. We have 3 children: Jordan (class of 2006), Jillian (class of 2008) and Chase (class of 2011). I believe that we have the best school district in the area. The administration, staff and facilities are the envy of many other districts. It makes me proud to live in the area and to have my children attend such a great school.

I was elected to serve on Centura’s school board in November of 2006. I grew up in the district and attended school here from kindergarten through twelfth grade. After graduating from Centura in 1992, I attended the University of Nebraska-Lincoln and graduated in 1997 with a BS in Agricultural Science. After graduating, my wife, Amy, and I eventually moved back to the Centura School district in 2000, so we could raise our children (Grace, Faith, and Hope) here. I am a business representative for BASF. I look forward to serving the best interests of Centura’s students, patrons, faculty and administration. Please feel free to contact me with all questions, comments and concerns.

My service on the school board began in January 2003. I was born in Grand Island and have lived in this area all of my life. I attended Kindergarten at a Wood River country school and 1st through 6th grade at a country school Southwest of Cairo. I graduated from Centura and Kearney State College, now known as UNK, with a Bachelor of Science in Business. I live in Cairo with my husband Terry, also a graduate of Centura. We have two daughters. Ashley is a 2002 graduate of Centura, a 2007 graduate of UNL and is pursuing her Master’s degree in Public Health at UNMC. Her husband, Randy, is a Special Education teacher. Tori is a 2004 graduate of Centura, a 2009 graduate of UNL and is teaching 5th grade at Engelman in Grand Island. We believe that Centura provided the foundation our girls needed to achieve their dreams.
Centura has had many changes over the years, but some things remain constant: the respect kids have for their teachers and the community pride for Centura. I am proud to be a part of Centura and look forward to serving the best interests of Centura’s students, patrons, faculty and administration.

In November 2008, I was elected to the Centura School Board and am excited to do my part to maintain the high quality of education that Centura prides itself in! I was born in Cairo and moved to a farm by Litchfield when I was four years old. I graduated from Litchfield High School in 1990 and attended Doane College for a year and then finished with a Bachelors Degree in Communications and Business from UNK in 1994. I’ve been a Human Relations Manager, a stay-at-home mom, and am now an Investment Specialist for Principal Financial Group. I have two daughters: Macy is in 3rd grade and Amber is in 2nd grade. We moved to Cairo In 2005 because of Centura and its pride in its students, teachers and staff. We are happy to be a part of the Centura community and I welcome any suggestions or comments that you have to make Centura the best school possible.
