Centura Jr./Sr. High School is a North Central-accredited school of just under 300 students in grades 7-12, located in rural Central Nebraska, along the banks of the Loup River. We are considered a class C1 school for athletic competition. Centura is proud to sponsor an award winning band. The professional staff, 30 strong, have worked hard to develop a strong curriculum, a dynamic school improvement plan, and an up-to-date technology plan. Having received a Federal Comprehensive School Reform grant, Centura Jr./Sr. High is working with the Centura Elementary on a professional development program overseeen by Onward to Excellence, through the Northwest Regional Education Laboratory. We are involved with Tech-prep and college transfer programs through Central Community College of Grand Island, as well as Wesleyan University in Lincoln. Most recently Centura has been proud of the 24/7 Laptop Learning Initiative, which provided students in grades 9-12 with computers in the fall of 2006.
