The 100th Day of School
As of now, the 100th day of school will be celebrated February 2nd. This year the kids will be participating in an Olympic themed celebration. They plan on playing games and eating healthy food.
In the past they have done themes like superheroes, Alvin and the Chipmunks, Tacky the Penguin, Winnie the Pooh, Dr. Seuss, and The count from Sesame Street. Challenges are set to complete throughout the year and these include setting goals for healthy living and/or random acts of kindness. Everything they do is based on the number “100”.
Following the activities that usually last an hour and a half, the students go back to their classrooms and learn lessons that coordinate with the day. For instance, in math, they may work with multiplication and the number 100.
